This session shows how violence at home becomes danger at work, using current research, case data, and threat-assessment principles to help business owners identify early warning behaviors, understand spillover risk, and support vulnerable employees. Attendees will learn how to recognize escalating behavior, apply structured response protocols, coordinate with security and leadership, and build practical safety plans that protect both the employee and the organization. This session provides professionals with clear, actionable steps they can implement immediately to reduce risk, strengthen reporting, and improve organizational readiness.

Joshua Shelton is a Partner with Group Nine Risk Consulting and a corporate security leader specializing in workplace violence prevention, behavioral threat assessment, and organizational security strategy. He advises on managing high-risk employee situations and serves as an expert witness in security negligence and workplace violence litigation, bringing a practical approach to understanding violent behavior and preventing escalation.
Joshua holds the Certified Protection Professional and Certified Threat Manager credentials and serves on the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals region board. He has developed and led threat management teams, trained HR and security professionals, and guided organizations through complex behavioral risk cases involving intimate partner violence, stalking, and employee-generated threats. His work focuses on helping employers create safer, more supportive workplaces by strengthening reporting pathways, improving investigative practices, and aligning HR and security functions to intervene early and effectively.

Each business will complete a Website Self-Audit along with a Message Mapping framework to rewrite critical homepage elements for better engagement, trust, and action. 24 Systems for a Thriving Business is a hands-on workshop series built to change that. Over
two 3-hour sessions, participants learn and implement the operational framework behind every
sustainable business. Each session is structured around real work — not lectures. Participants
leave with completed worksheets, documented processes, and a clear plan they can execute
starting Monday morning.
Part 1 of this series focuses on diagnosis and foundation. Before you can build the right
systems, you need to see clearly where your business actually stands. Most business owners
are surprised by what the diagnostic reveals.
This session introduces the full 24 Systems framework across six operational categories: Leadership and Decision-Making, Operations and Delivery, Financial Management, Client Experience, Marketing and Sales, and Growth and Scaling. Participants assess their own business against the framework, identify their most critical gaps, and complete a Financial Clarity Snapshot that many describe as the most honest look they have ever taken at their own numbers.
By the end of Part 1, every participant will have a completed Business Diagnostic Worksheet, a Financial Clarity Snapshot, and a clear understanding of which systems to build first and why. They will also receive a homework assignment that prepares them for the hands-on build work in Part 2.
The course includes classroom presentation and facilitated discussion alongside structured in-class work sessions. Each participant receives the course workbook and all worksheets in hard copy and digital format.
